Personally, I would ask them face to face. Asking them questions to find out what they've done with our techniques that we've taught them is a great idea. I would ask them during preparation of making the food or if there is free time.
You could ask them questions like... "Do you like or try to cook with your family?" "Have you been using the techniques that we've taught you?" "Have you been picking out the right ingredients for your dinner?"

My favorite quote from one of the kids in my program:
My favorite quote would be "It tastes like yummy and good food" After we finished cutting and grating cheese, we sat at the table and ate. I sat beside a girl who was in the program and I asked her "What does it takes like?" She said "It tastes yummy and good food". I'm thinking that she said that since she's never had a leafy wrap before or because it's really healthy and good for your health! After she was finished with her first one, she enjoyed it so much that she had seconds since we had extra. |
