My personal health goal was to drink 8 glasses of water most likely every day. It took me a while to finish but I did. (In February I think). I will still try to drink 8 each day even if the E.A.T program is over because being drinking water is good for you. Instead of always drinking water, I'll probably try to think of new drinks and healthier beverages for myself to be even more healthier every single day. Some strategies I could use for myself in the future are using a water bottle more often as well as carrying it with me most of the time wherever I am. Another strategy I could use is to get a calendar and write all my goals and notes about food safety down on my calendar so I can be reminded.

First of all I keep forgetting to drink my 8 cups of water each day which is my health goal. I am doing an awful job at it and will improve at it throughout the days that go by. Drinking water has influenced me in planning/leading the E.A.T sessions because every time I go to my site I will always see a kid drink some water before we start. I think the kids should adapt to drinking more water because it is healthy and good for your health. Whenever we start to eat I usually encourage some kids to drink some water. Since they are young kids and they get excited a lot I think it would be hard to get their attention and for them to drink healthy stuff like water. As well as I think they all like junk food like pop or chips but they should be eating more healthy foods as we give them more knowledge.
In my opinion, if I could share one EAT learning experience, it would be probably making the food every Wednesday in phase 1. Making the food made me more comfortable with working with others around me. I have learned some new ways in cooking such as different ways in how to peel or cut. Making the food as well as learning food facts, etc made me realize how much information there is out there that we never knew. The different kinds of foods that we made together as a team helped me think about making better and healthier food choices.
Personally, I would ask them face to face. Asking them questions to find out what they've done with our techniques that we've taught them is a great idea. I would ask them during preparation of making the food or if there is free time.
You could ask them questions like... "Do you like or try to cook with your family?" "Have you been using the techniques that we've taught you?" "Have you been picking out the right ingredients for your dinner?" My favorite quote from one of the kids in my program:
My favorite quote would be "It tastes like yummy and good food" After we finished cutting and grating cheese, we sat at the table and ate. I sat beside a girl who was in the program and I asked her "What does it takes like?" She said "It tastes yummy and good food". I'm thinking that she said that since she's never had a leafy wrap before or because it's really healthy and good for your health! After she was finished with her first one, she enjoyed it so much that she had seconds since we had extra. It's a new year! Now I am really eating healty! Today for dinner I had Shepherd's Pie, water, tofu, meat, salad, and healthy soup. I'm slowly reaching my goal. I have a calendar on my wall to check off when I have drank water and what I need to improve on. I like my calendar because it is organized and helps me work and be healty!
I have been drinking more water than before but not enough of what I should be drinking. I am slacking off and not thinking about my health goal. Although I have been eating more healthy throughout breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I will REMEMBER to EAT healthy and think about what I need to accomplish.
My goal for myself is to drink more water and eat healthier. This means less junk food such as pop, chips, candy, popcorn, etc. Eating healthy may look like eating fruits, veggies, more water, or more salads. I will use a reusable water bottle and drink water every day in the morning, afternoon, and night time.
Today I ate cereal and had an orange for breakfast, rice for lunch, and rice with choy.
